Technique Tuesday for May
Good morning everyone, firstly an apology that TT wasn’t the first Tuesday in the month this month. I was gadding about over the first Bank Holiday and didn’t want to be rushed in delivering it so I waited for the coronation to be over and decided on the second Tuesday instead.
No matter where you are in the world, I hope you have enjoyed what a historic occasion it has been in the UK, not something that happens in the world very often.
Back to business, TT can now be found live on YouTube or afterwards here on the blog if you are willing to scroll down a bit further. There have been many reasons for this, some technical, some personal and some considering learning trends but if you have found this blog then you will also find the recorded footage, the resources and links to the equipment I used. This year I made the decision to theme each month that I teach, mostly to help my online art collective The All A-Board Artists (read more about them HERE) but also to help focus the techniques I am sharing and so no matter how you interact with my tuition, we will all be talking about similar things during the month.
If you wanted to shove me right out of my comfort zone then I don’t think you could pick a better subject than this. During the sabbatical that never was (see previous blog posts!) I did get a little time to explore this subject, mostly because I knew it was coming and I needed to be better at it and like everything I do, I wanted to put my own spin on it. I have therefore tried to put lots of different ways of approaching portraits into the month and this is going to be a lovely way to start.
